With the regulation, universities and technology development regions can be given the right to establish storage facilities, provided that they have at least 1 MW of installed power, to be used in R&D studies. Pumping facilities will also be able to establish an energy storage facility to be used in case of an outage. Technical criteria for all storage facilities will be announced until September 1st.
The Electricity Network Regulation for storage services was also amended. In this context, according to the technical criteria whose basic framework is drawn, monitoring the storage facilities with the central system, network connection, etc. technical criteria will be determined by September 1st. Storage facilities were included in the automatic meter reading system with the changes made in the procedures and principles for Automatic Meter Reading Systems.
