The Green OSB Concept, which has come to the fore in the business world’s agenda within the framework of the EU Green Agreement, offers solutions regarding the Green Transformation in Industry and the measures included in the harmonization package, and is supported by the Turkish Ytong, the building materials manufacturer.
By 2030, Carbon Emissions Should Be Reduced by 55%
Stating that the Green Transformation in the Industry will start with the OIZs, which are the planned industrial areas, Hinginar pointed out that the production sector has priority in terms of the Green Agreement, and said, “The issue of the Green Agreement is a detailed and broad issue. We need to reach the right point together. We should set the reduction as a priority and aim to reduce carbon emissions by using energies obtained from both solar and natural sources. It is foreseen that the current carbon emissions will be reduced by 55 percent by 2030 and will be zero by 2050. We are still at the very beginning of the work. We have to move forward rapidly with conscious studies. In order for our industry to maintain its export potential, it is inevitable for our exporting companies to reduce their carbon emissions. OIZs have a leading role in the creation of a green and environmentally friendly production infrastructure and the transition to a smart and environmentally friendly production model. We started to see pilot OSBs that adopted the green OSB concept. We support this concept and carry out various studies to ensure that good examples are disseminated and heard. In addition, as Ytong, we stand by the Turkish industrialists with our products and solutions in this transformation. We cooperate with OIZs and investors to ensure that factory investments, which are the pillars of the economy, are environmentally friendly, healthy in terms of building quality and safety, energy efficient, and resistant to fire and earthquake risks. We provide consultancy to many ongoing investments on these issues and share our solutions. Our support for this issue will continue to increase,” he said.
Turkish Industrialists Should Activate Green Factories as soon as possible
Fethi Hinginar said, “We express at every opportunity that the phenomenon of urban transformation should also occur in the transformation of industry,” said, “In a way, it has started to become a necessity. Because the Green Agreement put into effect by the European Union council in June will affect all countries,” he said. Emphasizing that the agreement forced the Turkish industry to implement it, Hinginar stated that the work on green factories in particular should start without delay, and said, “As Ytong, we are building our own factories in the concept of Green Building that respects people and the environment. As Ytong, we produce environmentally friendly products that provide energy efficiency, fire resistance, and are suitable for green building construction. Our Ytong Panel products used in factory construction have EPD, that is, Environmental Label, thus earning points in the green building certification process. Our products are not only green building, but building life span It adds value to the investment in terms of thermal insulation, fire safety, etc. throughout the year, and reduces the risks that may cause production losses. It also offers advantages for the application of solar energy to the roofs, which we often encounter in industrial investments, these applications It provides an extremely robust, smooth roof construction for said.
