ABB won the project to design, supply, test and commission the high-power charging infrastructure for one of the world’s largest fleets of electric buses.
With this project, ABB will provide high-power charging infrastructure for 1,000 electric buses nationwide and the fleet that is planned to have a daily capacity of 50,000 passengers, and Qatar aims to increase its electric public bus network to 25% within 1 year and to 100% by 2030. As part of this plan, the Qatari government will create one of the world’s largest e-bus networks with ABB.
Partnering with Mannai Trading Company, Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ and fleet operator Mowasalat, ABB will design and distribute Heavy Vehicle Charging equipment at multiple locations in Qatar, including 4 bus depots, 8 bus stations and 12 metro stations. The project will also include a 3-year service level agreement.
