Acer, which has been committed to improving energy efficiency for a long time and committing to 100% renewable energy by 2035, announced that it was shortlisted at the RE100 Awards, which identify the most successful works that have transformed the clean energy industry.
Acer announced that it was shortlisted in the “Key Collaboration” category of the RE100 Leadership Awards. The awards are held to select the members of the Renewable Energy League RE100 platform‘s most successful work transforming the clean energy sector.
Acer is a company that strongly believes that it can create bigger and stronger impacts by working with its stakeholders on renewable energy. 45% of the company’s current suppliers are companies that have adopted green energy. However, 50 percent of Acer’s critical suppliers are affiliated with RE100 or the SBT Initiative (Science-Based Goals Initiative). Adopting CDP’s global disclosure system to manage the environmental impacts of its supply chain since 2008, Acer has expanded the system to two tiers of supplier engagement. Acer will expand this demand to tier three in 2022. In addition, the company will make its 100% renewable energy commitment by 2035.
The RE100 platform, a global renewable energy initiative that brings together hundreds of large and committed businesses committed to 100% renewable electricity, is a nonprofit that works with business and government leaders around the world on climate and the environment with a mission to accelerate the process of zeroing the carbon content of electricity grids. It is managed by the CDP and the Climate Group.
