EU Climate Law Passed by the European Parliament Approved

The European Council passed the European Parliament last week and approved the EU climate law. The law will be in effect 20 days after the EU’s official publication.

After the announcement of the Green Deal targets from 2019 to the present, within the framework of the law studied, the 27 EU member countries will reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030 compared to the 1990 level; It should reach net zero emissions by 2050.

It is also stated that the EU can reduce its net emissions by about 57% by 2030, by exceeding the target.
