Cengiz Holding carries the experience it has gained in the mining industry, both at home and abroad, to its sister country, Azerbaijan. Mehmet Cengiz, Chairman of the Board of Cengiz Holding, received the authority to explore and operate copper and gold mines in Qaşqaçay, Elbeydaş and Ağduzdağ regions from Azerbaijani ministers with a ceremony held in Azerbaijan.
Cengiz Holding, which has signed giant projects in Turkey, added a new one to its foreign investments,
‘WE WILL CARRY OUR EXPERIENCE TO AZERBAIJAN’
Making a speech at the ceremony, Cengiz Holding Chairman of the Board Mehmet Cengiz started his speech by wishing God’s mercy on the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the war that started against the occupation on September 27 last year and ended with the victory of Azerbaijan. Reminding the words of Heydar Aliyev, the founder of modern Azerbaijan, Cengiz stated that they will work to strengthen Azerbaijan’s economy with the understanding of “one nation, two states”. Cengiz continued as follows: “We are one of the largest companies in the field of mining in our country, with three separate production facilities and mines belonging to Eti Bakır and Eti Aluminum. We produce 100,000 tons of cathode copper, 80,000 tons of aluminum and 2,500 tons of cobalt per year. Both of our facilities are the only facilities in their fields that produce from the mine to the final product. For 17 years, we have been continuing our production in the mining field in the most efficient way, using the latest technologies. Now, it is our greatest wish to transfer this experience to brotherly Azerbaijan.”
Emphasizing that it is of great importance for them that two of the 3 mines that will start exploration activities are in Karabakh, Cengiz said, “The goal of contributing to the development of these war-torn regions will be a great source of motivation for us. In the event that the drilling works are concluded positively, we will contribute to the economy and employment of Azerbaijan with the new investment we will make, while clinching the unshakable unity of the two countries.
