It was announced that Turkcell signed the share transfer agreement for the purchase of Dimension Group Energy, of which İzmir Karadag Wind Power Plant (RES) is included.
Turkcell General Manager Murat Erkan said, “With the first solar power plant of our group in the TRNC, we produce 1.2 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year and prevent 448 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. We produce 300 thousand kilowatt-hours of electricity per year with our solar power installed in our Ankara data center. When we add the solar energy investments in our plaza buildings in Diyarbakır and Adana, we have reached the capacity to produce approximately 730 thousand kilowatt-hours of energy per year only in our locations in Turkey.”
İzmir Karadağ WPP, with a total installed capacity of 18 MW, produces energy equivalent to the annual energy consumption of 22,500 residences with its annual production capacity of approximately 67.5 gigawatt-hours. RES, which has a government purchase guarantee until the end of 2026, is expected to have an annual income of approximately 5 million dollars in the 2021-2026 period.
