Uludağ Elektrik continues the Pink Invoice application, which it launched to draw attention to breast cancer, this year as well. Aiming to draw attention to this disease as October is known as “Breast Cancer Awareness Month”, the company designs its invoices in pink and delivers them to its customers, and tries to raise awareness about breast cancer.
‘We wanted to draw attention to the importance of early diagnosis’
Emphasizing that the project is very important and valuable, Uludağ Elektrik General Manager Ali Erman Aytac said, “Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in the world. In this sense, our Pink Invoice project, which we, as Uludağ Elektrik, implemented in 2019 for breast cancer, which poses a great risk in the lives of women, is very valuable to us. Since electricity bills are a document that is meticulously followed and examined by our citizens, the explanations and messages on this platform are also read intensively. We aim to contribute to raising awareness about this type of cancer with our project that we carry out every year in Breast Cancer Awareness Month. To our 3 million customers, “Don’t be afraid, be aware! We aim to raise awareness against this health problem by forwarding our pink invoices with the message “Regular check-up and mammography protect you from breast cancer”. Our employees at our processing centers also aim to draw attention to the issue by wearing pink ribbons. Again within the institution, we organized trainings for our female employees emphasizing the effect of nutrition on cancer and the importance of self-examination. We draw attention to breast cancer on all our platforms by designing our logo in pink on digital channels such as our website and social media accounts, and by changing the lighting of our building to pink. As a company with more than fifty percent female employees, we are trying to shine a light on awareness for women to have a healthier future.”
