The Solar Power Plant of Uzunköprü Group Villages Drinking Water Association, which will cover the energy cost of drinking water in 50 villages in Uzunköprü for the Köydes Project, which was implemented with the support of the Edirne Governorship, was put into service with the opening ceremony.
In his speech at the opening of the solar power plant, Edirne Governor Ekrem Canalp emphasized that solar energy is one of the most important and environmentally friendly energy sources and said, “In Uzunköprü and other villages of Edirne, we allocate a large part of our budget to the energy we use to supply the drinking water we give to the villages. Green energy, which is installed with smart planning, is energy that does not harm the nature, does not emit carbon and is the energy of the future. We are activating green energy on the Meriç River with the 3 Rivers Project in Edirne. I hope we will have realized the opening of the project, which will meet the electricity needs of 4,800 households,” he said.
