GlobalData has announced that Vestas is the leading global wind turbine manufacturer in 2021.
Vestas Wind Systems is the leader in wind turbines with a 19% share of global installations with 16.6 gigawatt (GW) installations in 2021, while high-level projects commissioned in America and Europe and stable installation activity in Asia-Pacific have allowed it to exceed the 16.6 GW limit.
In its home market, the United States, GE Renewable Energy has over 11.7 GW of power, representing approximately 13.4% of annual installations worldwide.
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (SGRE) ranked third with 12.6% share of turbines installed in 2021 with more than 10.99 GW of turbines, while the merger of Gamesa and Siemens created a strong position in the onshore energy industry.
Nordex SE, on the other hand, ranked 5th, with 8.2 GW installed in 2021, doubling the 4.72 GW figure in 2020, accounting for 9.4% of global wind turbine installations.
