The onshore wind energy project portfolio consisting of 13 wind farms with a total installed capacity of 315 MW in Italy and Sicily was purchased by Eni.
While Italian oil and gas giant Eni is investing in wind energy, an agreement has been reached on the sale of one of Italy’s largest onshore wind project portfolios. It is predicted that the power plants, consisting of 256 wind turbines in total, will meet the energy needs of approximately 200,000 households.
“This will enable us to reach an installed capacity of 4 GW in 2024, 15 GW in 2030 and 60 GW in 2050, as planned in this transaction strategy,” Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi said in his statement.
