Within the scope of the sustainability-focused change and transformation movement that it has implemented with the Smart Life 2030 vision, Zorlu Energy, which strengthens its place among the institutions that adopt the sustainability vision, is included in the Young SDG Innovators Program carried out by the United Nations (UN) Global Compact, the world’s largest sustainability initiative of which it is a member it happened.
The UN Global Compact aims to bring together young talents under the age of 35 who have leadership potential to find solutions to sustainability problems with a radical innovation perspective.
The program, which was designed and implemented by Zorlu Energy, was attended by a team consisting of Deputy General Manager of Finance Erdinç Çetin, R&D Manager Ural Halaçoğlu, Risk Management Senior Specialist Yansı Hilal Şener and ZES Senior Specialist Olcay Buğu Bekdikhan. The team of young engineers and financiers received acclaim with their impressive presentation at the Young SDG Innovators Summit, which they attended as part of the Uniting Business Live event.
In the special session held within the framework of the “Young SDG Innovators” program, which is carried out simultaneously by UN Global Compact all over the world and which enables young professionals working in Global Compact member companies from 16 countries to develop new products and services in their own business lines using the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Zorlu The energy team presented the project they developed for the reuse and recycling of batteries, one of the most important components of the rapidly developing electric vehicle ecosystem.
Within the scope of the project developed by the Zorlu Energy team in line with their vision of leading the way in accelerating the electric vehicle movement in Turkey, it aims to support the electric vehicle ecosystem through reusable batteries in cases where electric vehicles are concentrated and electric vehicle charging stations are insufficient. In addition, it is also among the objectives to integrate the batteries suitable for reuse with solar power plants (PV), to store the excess electricity and to benefit from the sun for a longer period of time.
