While the Moscow Stock Exchange registered the exchange-traded bonds program of Atomenergoprom A.Ş., the Russian State Atomic Energy Agency’s subsidiary of Rosatom operating in the nuclear sector, the stock market bond program and securities prospectus were approved at the Atomenergoprom Board of Directors meeting on April 26, 2021.
The total (maximum) nominal value of the bonds to be issued within the scope of the program will be Ruble 100 billion, and the maximum maturity period of the bonds will be 3,640 days from the first placement date. The program has no expiration date. The securities prospectus was registered at the same time as the bond program.
The transactions regarding the public offering of bonds are planned to be carried out through the Moscow Stock Exchange. “Green” or “social” bonds may also be included in the bond program.
The placement of the bonds was organized by Alfa-Bank, VTB Capital, Gazprombank, Moscow Credit Bank, Otkritie Bank, Rosselkhozbank, Sberbank KIB and Sovcombank.
Funds from the bonds placed under the program will be used to finance Rosatom’s sustainable (green) programs and projects. Within the scope of the approved program, it is planned to issue 10 billion Ruble bonds first, which will be used to refinance the costs of the wind energy program.
NovaWind A.Ş., Rosatom’s subsidiary that carries out wind energy projects, has already commissioned 3 wind farms with a total capacity of 420 MW in southern Russia. By the end of the year, 3 more farms with a total capacity of 300 MW will be commissioned in the Stavropol and Rostov regions. NovaWind companies plan to install wind power plants with a total capacity of 1.2 GW by 2024.
Alexey Likhachev, General Manager of Rosatom, said in a statement on the subject that sustainable development is a very important part of Rosatom’s strategy and said, “Contributing to the fight against climate change and low-carbon electricity generation based on nuclear and renewable energy sources is our absolute priority. Our other strategic sustainable products include solutions such as ‘Smart Cities’, nuclear medicine, environmental projects, etc. countable.
