The 10th Meeting of Ministers of Economy of the Turkic Council, which continues its international activities in order to encourage cooperation between Turkic speaking countries, was held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. At the Turkish Business Awards Ceremony held after the meeting, SOCAR Turkey, the Turkish subsidiary of the Azerbaijan State Oil Company SOCAR, received the “Turkic Council Investment Award”.
In the awards where companies that play an important role in increasing investments in council member countries are evaluated, SOCAR Turkey was deemed worthy of an award with its large-scale investments in which production is carried out in strategic sectors. At the meeting attended by the Ministers responsible for economy/trade of member countries Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Hungary and Turkey, the award on behalf of SOCAR Turkey, Mikayil Yusifov, received the award from the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Turkey Mehmet Muş.
The Turkish Business Awards are given by the decision of the Republic of Turkey Presidential Investment Office and the Ministry of Commerce, based on the evaluation made among the companies of the council member countries investing in Turkey. The Turkic Council, of which Azerbaijan and Turkey are among the founders, also carries out projects for the mutual sharing and development of the historical and cultural accumulations of the Turkic world, as well as increasing the economic cooperation between the member countries.

Evaluating the ‘Turkic Council Investment Award’ they received, SOCAR Turkey Communications and Public Relations President Mikayil Yusifov said: “The Turkic Council is a strong union that announces the potential of our countries that speak the same language and share the same ideals to the whole world. In addition to economic cooperation, it also contributes to the development of social and cultural ties between Turkish states by keeping the scale of inclusiveness wider. With the vision it offers to the Turkish world, it carries our states and our brotherly peoples to the future by clamping them together around our common values. As SOCAR Turkey, we are always present with our strong steps in this future journey of the Turkish world. We consider our investments in Turkey to be of strategic importance not only for Azerbaijan and Turkey, but also for the entire Turkish world, and we continue our activities with this awareness. In this respect, receiving such an award from the Turkic Council means much more than an award for us.
