While the electricity generation capacity of our country increased by 1.5 GW in the last 4 months to 97,376.5 MW, the biggest share of the increase was wind energy. In the first 4 months, 652.5 MW installed wind energy power was commissioned.
Latest status reports containing power plant installed power information on renewable energy resources have been published by TEİAŞ. In the report, it is noted that the electricity generation capacity of our country increased by 1,485.9 MW in the first 4 months of this year to 97,376.5 MW, while the biggest share of this increase was wind energy with 652.5 MW. Stating that Turkey, which meets approximately 9% of its energy needs from wind energy, should accelerate its efforts to accelerate the sector, Ali Aydın, General Manager of the Country Energy, points out that wind energy can reach its future targets with the support of all stakeholders from the turbine manufacturer to the operator, from companies that provide service maintenance services to employees.
Power in Electricity Generation, Wind Energy
Turkey is making significant progress in many areas of renewable energy, especially wind energy. At a time when the world is confidently turning towards clean energy, investments in wind energy are increasing in our country. It is also emphasized that the currently installed 9.485 MW installed power can increase further with the right investment and policies, and a clean energy revolution can be realized in the next 10 years.
Most of the Installations were Made in Wind Energy in the First 4 Months!
Our country, which wants to reduce its dependence on foreign energy, continues to develop its policies for renewable energy resources. In particular, wind energy, whose share in electricity generation is measured as 9% throughout 2020, is expected to meet consumption at an even higher level at the end of 2021, despite the increasing energy demand. The most important reason for this is the new wind farms that are being established rapidly today. Expressing that they play a critical role in the installation and commissioning of these power plants as the Country Energy teams, Ali Aydın expresses that they are ready to meet all the burden as a sector in Turkey’s journey to reach domestic, economical and clean energy. Ali Aydın emphasizes the importance of professional teams to manage the process of converting wind to energy in order to ensure uninterrupted benefit from wind energy, and underlines that, as Ülke Energy, they have an expert team and technical equipment for all components of the wind turbine in installation, maintenance, repair and inspection processes for the continuity of this success. Finally, Aydın emphasizes that they continue to invest in turbine tower access platforms, artificial intelligence-supported autonomous drones that can perform unmanned wing inspection operations and other technical investments in 2021 with additional capacity to their existing investments.
