Energy Minister Fatih Dönmez announced that Turkey is approaching the limit of 100,000 MW in total installed power and today, 52.3% of our installed power is from renewable energy.
Minister Dönmez attended the summit with the theme of “New Economic Order in the World, Climate Crisis and the Importance of Renewable Energy in the World” held by the Renewable Energy Research Association (YENADER) with the video conference method, and in his statements, the share of electricity production continues to increase even during the new type of coronavirus epidemic. He emphasized that the resource is renewable energy and that over 2 trillion dollars have been invested in renewable energy in global markets in the last 10 years.
In addition, Dönmez said, “As of today, 52.3% of our installed power, in other words more than half, is from renewable energy. Our electricity production from renewable energy has been above the 40% band for the last 3 years. This rate was around 25% 10 years ago. ” said. For the mini YEKA competitions, Dönmez stated that he continued the YEKA competitions with YEKA GES-3, and that 19 out of 74 thousand megawatts competitions were completed. Noting that 260 megawatts of capacity has been allocated in 9 provinces so far, Dönmez stated that the average price at the end of 19 competitions was 22.7 kurus per kilowatt-hour.
